Meet our team of qualified and caring educators, dedicated to supporting students with learning difficulties. Each educator is qualified to provide planned, explicit and structured lessons, which are specific to the learning needs of the individual student. Together, we foster a supportive environment that promotes growth and confidence.
Sally Gillard
Sally Gillard is an Orton-Gillingham Trained Literacy Therapist who completed her training with the Hawaiian based expert, Ron Yoshimoto, at Bentleigh West Primary in January 2019, and the Advanced Morphology training with him in January 2020. Sally is also a qualified Integration Aide who taught small group Literacy Intervention four days a week at a local Melbourne primary school from 2018 until 2020.
Prior to starting the Bayside Learning Hub with colleagues, Sally had been contracting as a learning specialist, working one-on-one with students with and without dyslexia, since 2019 through Learning Fundamentals. Her previous career had been as an Executive Assistant to Executive Director’s in large multi-national finance companies.
Sally is married and the mother of 3 children. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in history.
Kate Georgiades
Kate Georgiades is an MSL (Multisensory Structured Language) Specialist Educator and Orton-Gillingham Trained Therapist. MSL and Orton-Gillingham are evidence-based approaches that provide direct and explicit, structured, systematic and cumulative reading, spelling and writing instruction. The multisensory components of visual, auditory and kinesthetic-tactile are incorporated to enhance memory and learning. MSL and Orton-Gillingham instruction are appropriate for children with reading and spelling difficulties, including dyslexia.
Kate completed her MSL training with the Institute for Multisensory Structured Language Education and is an Associate Member of the Australian Dyslexia Association. Kate has also completed the Yoshimoto Orton-Gillingham training in Basic Literacy (phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension and early foundations for writing) and Advanced Morphology (advanced language structures).
Kate is a qualified Integration Aide and has experience supporting children with a range of learning difficulties. Kate is the proud mother of two teenage children.
Lizzy Badge
Lizzy is passionate about supporting all children on their educational journey - whatever path that may be. She is a qualified Secondary Teacher and completed her Bachelor of Education in English and English Literature in 1989. She taught in Melbourne and London and then took time off to rear her four children.
In 2017 she completed her training in MSL (Multisensory Structured Language) and worked as an educational consultant.
In January 2024 Lizzy completed the Orton-Gillingham (OG) course, designed by Ron Yoshimoto, with the Dyslexia Orton-Gillingham Institute (DOGI) and now is a trained OG therapist. Both MSL and OG are direct, explicit, structured and cumulative literacy approaches which all children can benefit from – irrelevant of age and stage. These approaches benefit all students but are particularly crucial for children struggling to read.
Anna Randall
Anna Randall is a Multisensory Structured Language (MSL) Specialist Educator, and Orton-Gillingham (OG) Trained Literacy Therapist. Anna completed her training in MSL with the Institute for Multisensory Language Education (IMSLE) in 2018, and her Yoshimoto OG training with the Dyslexia Orton-Gillingham Institute (DOGI) in 2023.
As well as this specialist literacy training, Anna has a Graduate Diploma in Psychology, a Bachelor in Business (Marketing), and a Bachelor in Arts.
Prior to her time with the Bayside Learning Hub, Anna has worked privately, and within school settings, supporting children with varying needs in academic, social and emotional support. She loves teaching children one-on-one, and is passionate about well-being and giving every child the best opportunity to thrive.
Anna lives locally with her husband and 3 teenage children.
Sharon Nicholls
Sharon Nicholls is a highly experienced MSL education specialist and qualified primary school teacher.
In Literacy, Sharon uses an evidence-based, multisensory, structured approach with Orton-Gillingham principles. She is trained in multi-sensory Maths instruction (Ron Yoshimoto) and has recently completed a writing course informed by the Science of Learning. Sharon is an Associate Member of the Australian Dyslexia Association.
An advocate for every student, Sharon works closely with schools and families to help parents negotiate student requirements to ensure the right supports are in place to help every student achieve their learning goals. Sharon creates an environment where her students feel supported and grow their confidence with literacy and numeracy. She believes in giving students the tools to start and stay on their learning journey.
A mum to 3 children (5 if you count the dogs), Sharon loves to be outdoors, enjoys the beach and all that Bayside has to offer.
